China's largest megawatt-hour solar plus energy storage project system

Introduction: Inverter manufacturer Sungrow provides inverters and energy storage systems for China's largest 202.8 MW/million watt-hour solar + energy storage equipment. The plant will be connected to a new 800 kV UHV power line. The state-owned power company Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. is building a 202.8 MW/million watt-hour solar + storage power station in the desert of Qinghai Province in northwestern China.


The facility will be connected to an ultra-high-voltage transmission line under construction by the State Grid Corp of China, which will connect remote areas in northwestern China with the more densely populated eastern provinces. The 22.6 billion yuan ($3.18 billion) transmission line will include the construction of two converter stations with a transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts and will extend 1,587 kilometers in Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, and Henan provinces.


The Yellow River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. has started the first phase of a huge renewable energy project, which will eventually have 10 GW of solar power generation capacity, 5 GW of wind power, and 1 GW of concentrated solar power. Trina Solar will provide 600 MW modules for the first phase of the facility.


The state-owned Yellow River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. has appointed nine solar panel manufacturers, which will provide 3,182 megawatts of photovoltaic power generation capacity in the first phase of the massive 16 GW renewable energy project, which will include 10 The new sun of GW.


When the huge power generation project is completed, it will have 5 GW of wind power capacity-2 GW of which will be installed in the current development stage-and 1 GW of concentrated solar power. In addition, the renewable energy facility is one of two double-digit multi-gigawatt projects under the Yellow River Hydropower Plan of Qinghai Province under the State Power Investment Co., Ltd.


The solar plus energy storage project is part of the Yellow River Hydropower’s 3182-megawatt solar plan. According to Chinese inverter manufacturer Sungrow, the company provides its 1500v, SG250HX string inverters and energy storage solutions for the facility.


This solar + storage power station will be the first phase of a 16 GW renewable energy center, which will include 1,000 GW of solar power generation capacity.


Sungrow said that solar energy + energy storage facilities will be equipped with sub-array energy management functions to ensure stable power output and improve the prediction accuracy of solar power generation.


According to the analysis of the MANLY-lithium battery group, a customized, AC-coupled, low-voltage design can ensure cost savings for customers. In addition, the flexibly constructed micro-grid system and Sungrow photovoltaic and energy storage systems can provide electricity at the initial stage of construction, greatly reducing the construction time.
