Lithium-ion will lead the way. Lead-acid batteries will be replaced by lithium-ion batteries. Lead-acid batteries for electric vehicles can be converted into lithium-ion batteries, which is simple and convenient. A variety of lithium-ion battery packs are available online and can be used to replace lead-acid batteries as long as the voltage is the same. In general, just replace the charger with the matching lithium ion battery charger.
But there is one thing to be aware of, and that is the controller issue. There is a controller specially used with lithium battery. After changing lithium battery, it will be better to change the controller dedicated to lithium ion battery. In fact, the principle of lithium-ion battery controller and lead-acid battery controller are the same, the hardware is also the same, except the undervoltage value is different. Lithium-ion special controller undervoltage value is lower than lead-acid battery. Better battery efficiency.
Take 48V lead-acid controller as an example, the under-voltage protection value is about 411 volts. When the battery voltage falls to about 41V, although the vehicle can still run at a low speed, the battery is already in the state of deep discharge and over-discharge, and its life will be greatly shortened. The under-voltage protection function of the controller can effectively prevent the battery from over-discharge. The lithium-ion eating controller also operates on the same principle. Taking 48V13 series lithium ion battery as an example, the full charge is 54.6V and the minimum discharge voltage is 37.8V. Therefore, after using the lead-acid battery controller, when the battery drops to about 41V, the controller enters the under-voltage protection state, and the power of lithium battery is not fully released, which will reduce the endurance range.
