Based on strong market demand and market prospects that have not been released in the past few months, GE plans to triple the capacity of GE's photovoltaic equipment and ESS energy storage products to 9 GW per year by the end of 2022.
Associated equipment systems are manufactured at GE's new renewable hybrid plant. In early 2022, General Electric announced the construction of a renewable hybrid vehicle manufacturing facility in Vallam, near Chennai, India. The facility manufactures GE's power conversion solution called FLEXINVERTER (formerly LV5+), as well as FLEXRESERVOIR, and supports their integration with the FLEXIQ solution in GE Renewable Hybrids' FLEX portfolio, which is designed to address customer concerns about dispatchable , green power demand for photovoltaic, storage and hybrid applications.

In the past fifteen years, GE has continued to provide independent photovoltaic inverters and photovoltaic power station products to global customers, and took the lead in introducing 1500V technology into the industry in 2012, helping customers reduce energy costs through more efficient project layout.
