German project developer Energiequelle GmbH has opened a new office in Poznan, Poland, a move that marks the company's entry into the Polish wind and solar market, which is reviewing project plans for more than 1 GW.

The company said recently that its local staff is evaluating options for the acquisition and implementation of the Polish project, with more than 30 options under consideration. While solar photovoltaic (PV) technology will be a major target, plans in the wind energy sector are also being explored.

Energiequelle's plan is to make acquisitions and eventually focus on developing its own projects. According to the statement, the company is about to sign contracts with some partners.

So far, the company has put into operation 750 renewable power plants with a combined capacity of about 1.5 GW.
