How long will an electric car's battery last?

The battery of electric vehicles has always been a concern of consumers, especially in terms of service life.

Let's take a look first. At present, the power batteries carried by electric vehicles are divided according to material types, mainly including ternary lithium batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries, lithium manganate batteries and lithium titanate batteries. The proportion of the latter two is too small, so I will not discuss this time, so I will mainly look at ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate batteries. According to national regulations, the capacity of the electric vehicle power battery decays to less than 80% of the new battery state, which can be regarded as the end of the service life of the power battery.

Ternary lithium battery: According to the power battery supplier, the ternary lithium battery can be charged and discharged 1,000 times or more. We take a pure electric vehicle with a battery life of 400 kilometers as an example. It is used for 50 kilometers every day. The reduced mileage can be charged once every 6 days, less than 60 times a year, and 1000 times of charging and discharging can be used for more than ten years.

Lithium iron phosphate battery: We take BYD's lithium iron phosphate battery as an example. The number of charging and discharging times can reach 1500-2000 times. Similarly, according to the previous algorithm, the use time will definitely be longer.

But we also need to know that everyone's different driving habits or frequent fast charging will cause irreversible damage to the battery. We can discount on the basis of 10 years, and we can also use it for about 8 years. Compared with the use of fuel vehicles The lifespan is not inferior, so there is no need to worry that the battery will have a great impact on the lifespan of the electric vehicle.
