The Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Committee for Agricultural Research and Agricultural Economic Analysis (CREA), and the National Agency for New Technology have jointly released the "Guidelines for the Design, Construction and Operation of Agricultural Photovoltaic Power Plants".
The agricultural photovoltaic system uses an innovative all-in-one solution to elevate the photovoltaic modules without compromising the continuity of farming and animal husbandry planting activities, and applies digital technology and precision farming tools. Provisions are also made for the implementation of monitoring systems to verify the impact of PV installations on crops, taking into account water conservation, productivity, continuity of associated farm activities, restoration of soil fertility, microclimate and resilience to climate change.
According to the characteristics of the agro-PV systems analyzed, the specific power capacity of a properly designed agro-PV system should not be less than 60% compared to the reference specific capacity of a standard PV system: compliance with these requirements is a state-subsidized agro-PV system The only condition is to pay by electricity price.
