NanoSUN recently launched its new hydrogen technology, providing a reliable, low-cost cooling solution for operators of hydrogen fueled vehicles and hydrogen refueling stations.
The company says its new "cooled engine" technology provides an environmentally friendly solution that requires zero downtime, enabling continuous vehicle refueling operations without the need for high power usage.
In 2021, the UK government's Department for Transport, in partnership with Innovate UK, awarded NanoSUN a £170,000 award to design and develop an alternative cooling process for rapid hydrogen road freight vehicle refuelling.
After eliminating the need for moving parts and the running costs of traditional coolers, it is hoped that NanoSUN's new technology will provide a solution to the challenges facing hydrogen infrastructure upgrades.
Current hydrogen cooling methods offer slow refueling times or prove to be energy-intensive and expensive, setting up barriers at a time when hydrogen infrastructure needs to be expanded.
