QAIR ENERGY plans to deploy 60MW solar+energy storage project in Mauritius

The French Independence Electric Power Manufacturer (IPP) QAIR ENERGY company has won the bidding contract a few days ago and plans to deploy a 60MW solar+energy storage project in Mauritius.

Earlier this month, the company announced that it signed four independent power purchase agreements (PPA) with the CEB of Mauritius.

The four solar+energy storage projects deployed by QAIR ENERGY will provide electricity to the major public institutions of Mauritius. In these projects, the total installed capacity of solar power generation facilities is 60mW, but it does not disclose the installed capacity of the battery storage system that is deployed.

Mauritius is located about 1,000 kilometers east of Madagascar. The country has formulated the target of 60%of renewable energy power generation by 2030. The current power mainly relies on petroleum and coal -fired power generation facilities. According to industry media reports, the Moritice Central Electric Power Bureau (CEB) released the bidding of electricity purchased from solar+energy storage projects in March last year, with a total installed capacity of 90 to 110mW.

According to the data on the website of the Morimos Central Electric Power Bureau (CEB) website, the installed capacity of these projects deployed by Qair Energy is equivalent to about 7%of the 876MW renewable energy installed capacity deployed by Mauritius.

QAIR ENERGY is an independent power producer (IPP) that develops and operates renewable energy, green hydrogen -making and energy storage projects. Its headquarters is located in Paris and set up offices around the world. The installed capacity of the company's operation or renewable energy projects under construction is 1GW, and the total installed capacity of renewable energy projects in 20 countries in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is 30GW.

According to industry media reports, the company's total installed capacity of a wind power facilities deployed in Mauritius and the two solar power generation facilities is 35MW, and it is seeking deployment of about 500MW solar power generation facilities in Italy.
