U.S. Army officials recently said they would conduct large-scale land-based robot warfare tests, saying they knew of no other country that had conducted more than a single robot. The latest news from Russian media shows that Russia has carried out a test of an autonomous battle group with multiple attack robots and no human participation.

According to Sputnik news agency on October 19, sources in the Russian military complex revealed that Russia conducted combat tests with five Marker attacking robots, which formed autonomous battle groups without human participation.
"Ground robotics Integrated System cluster demonstration samples were tested at a firing range. There are 5 Marker robot platforms in the cluster, including 3 wheeled and 2 tracked ". These robots, without human intervention, "completed the assignment of targets within the group, entered the optimal fire array position, independently responded to the rapidly changing combat situation, and exchanged target instructions."
The source also revealed that the robot battle group conducted autonomous reconnaissance with its own instruments during the test. As aerial uAVs can greatly improve the quantity and quality of reconnaissance, joint tests of robot clusters and UAVs are planned in the future, and the application of autonomous robot attack groups creates conditions for realizing the overall effect.
The Marker robot, developed by Russia, weighs about 3 tons and can be fitted with a variety of weapons, including large-caliber machine guns and rocket launchers. At present, Russia's Eastern Space Launch Site has begun testing the robot's ability to perform guard duty.
