Single-cell lithium battery charge and discharge management method, what is the role of lithium battery pre-charge

Single-cell lithium battery charge and discharge management method, the role of lithium battery pre-charge. Lithium battery charging and discharging management system is easy to use, it can protect the current during charging and discharging and short-circuit current protection during discharging, and monitor the voltage of single-cell lithium battery. For many consumers, do not quite understand why lithium battery charging first pre-charge? This article will help you answer the question.

Single-cell lithium battery charge and discharge management method

Lithium battery charge and discharge management system, said lithium battery is a single lithium battery, said system includes lithium battery charge and discharge management module, lithium battery voltage over discharge protection module, lithium battery discharge over current protection module and voltage boost module. The lithium battery charge/discharge management system and method realizes the application management of a single lithium battery, overcoming the differences between each lithium battery caused by multiple lithium batteries connected in series in the prior art.

The lithium battery charge and discharge management module manages the charge and discharge process of lithium battery, which greatly enhances the life of lithium battery. Meanwhile, the system is protected by the lithium battery voltage over-discharge protection module and lithium battery discharge over-current protection module, so that the system does not need to increase the lithium battery protection board, and therefore has the advantages of safety and reliability, simple implementation, low cost and easy to promote the application.

① Under the normal condition of the external charging power supply and when the lithium battery is not fully charged, the lithium battery charging and discharging management module monitors the voltage of the lithium battery and the voltage of the external charging power supply, and starts the lithium battery charging process when the lithium battery voltage is monitored to be lower than the lithium battery charging voltage threshold, and stops the lithium battery charging process when the lithium battery voltage is monitored to be equal to the maximum lithium battery voltage and the charging current is very small process to avoid floating charge.

② Under the normal condition of the external charging power supply and when the lithium battery has been fully charged, the lithium battery charging and discharging management system continuously monitors the voltage of the lithium battery and the voltage of the external charging power supply, and restarts the lithium battery charging process if the lithium battery voltage is monitored to be lower than the lithium battery charging voltage threshold.

③In the case of abnormal external charging power supply, the lithium battery charging and discharging management system monitors the voltage of the lithium battery and the voltage of the external charging power supply, and if the voltage of the external charging power supply module is monitored to be abnormal at this time, the lithium battery discharging process is started; and

④ Lithium battery discharge overcurrent protection module always monitors the size of the working current in the lithium battery discharge circuit, and when the lithium battery discharge current in the discharge circuit is monitored to be greater than the maximum lithium battery discharge current threshold, the lithium battery discharge circuit is disconnected; when the lithium battery discharge current in the discharge circuit is monitored to be lower than the maximum lithium battery discharge current threshold, the lithium battery discharge circuit is reopened; so on and so forth.

⑤ Li-ion battery voltage over-discharge protection module always monitors the current voltage size of the Li-ion battery, and when the monitored Li-ion battery voltage is lower than the minimum discharge voltage threshold, it disconnects the Li-ion battery discharge circuit and stops the Li-ion battery power supply; when the monitored Li-ion battery voltage is higher than the minimum voltage threshold, it re-opens the Li-ion battery discharge circuit; and so on and so forth.

The role of lithium battery pre-charge

As lithium-ion batteries have a high energy ratio, if directly into the fast charge mode, it will damage the lithium battery, affecting the service life and may therefore bring safety risks. Lithium battery charging because of the constant current is too large when the battery may be damaged, so the first pre-charge, first let the active material activation, and then give the battery normal charging.

Although the current lithium-ion battery in the design process are built-in line protection board, usually the chances of overcharging the battery overcharge is very small, but if the battery is not pre-charged at first, it will bring many aspects of hidden dangers, such as the failure of the protection board, the self-discharge rate of a long period of time, when the battery over discharge will lead to difficulties in the recovery of the active material, this first charged to 2.5V to 3.0V with a small current, and then converted to fast charging is necessary. Pre-charged small batteries can effectively solve the charging problem of over-discharged batteries.

Therefore, experts recommend that consumers should correctly understand the importance of pre-charging lithium batteries, lithium batteries in the design process of the reason for the growth of pre-charging function, the purpose of this, so the newly purchased battery must be pre-charged, and choose the appropriate constant current value for the battery to charge.
