Recently, according to the official WeChat account of Sony China, Sony officially released a new generation of mobile robots with a six-leg + wheel design, which can move flexibly according to the terrain, and the coordinated control system of the whole machine flexibly adjusts the joint force.

It is understood that the leg structure of the robot consists of six drives equipped with wheels. The robot uses wheels on flat ground and uses wheels and legs to move up and down in places with height differences such as stairs.
In addition, it can distribute the load of the legs during operation or at rest. This design allows the robot to transport heavy objects up to 20 kg.
It is worth mentioning that the six-leg design ensures that there are three points in contact with the ground at all times, providing a smooth center of gravity movement, so that the robot will not shake whether it is moving on a flat or uneven road.
According to reports, the movement of the legs requires instantaneous high current. The robot is equipped with an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) that can provide peak current and the maximum movement speed is 1.7 m/s.
Officials said that under the epidemic, the shortage of construction site personnel has become a challenge. The six-legged mobile robot developed by Sony has been put into demonstration experiments on the construction site of Shimizu Corporation in Japan. It is expected to conduct patrols, monitoring and construction turnover inspections on construction sites.
