Spain's Gonvarri Solar Steel said it had been awarded a contract to supply Iberdrola SA with its rack systems for a 200 MW solar PV project in Spain.
The Spanish energy company ordered 9,684 RackSmarT fixed structures for its Tagus solar farm project in the town of Alcantara, near Portugal. Solar Steel said the buildings will house more than 307,500 solar panels.
The steel products maker said its solar trackers and mounts have so far supplied more than 15 GW of projects around the world.
