In August, the top five states in the deployment of battery energy storage systems in the United States were: 3629MW in California; 1168MW in Texas; 520MW in Florida; 196MW in Massachusetts; 165MW of Nevada.
According to this survey report released by ZPRYME, since the beginning of 2021, the installed capacity of the battery energy storage system deployed in the United States has increased more than doubled, and the installed capacity of the energy storage system planned by the planned deployment in August has been increased by nearly 6GW.
The report analyzed the data of the US Energy Intelligence Agency, and pointed out that the United States added 10 operating battery energy storage projects in August with a installed 415MW. According to data released by Zpryme, as of August, 376 battery energy storage projects in the United States are operating. Independent power producers have about 81%of the battery energy storage system installed capacity, and public institutional companies have 19%.
The installed capacity of the energy storage system planned in August was 5879MW, which is the largest increase since 19 months since January 2021. From 1631MW in January 2021 to 415MW of August this year, the capacity of battery storage capacity operated by the United States increased by 311%.
Zpryme's investigation report claims that in August this year, the owner of the battery energy storage project with the top five battery storage projects in accordance with the installation capacity was NEXTERA Energy, with 1295MW; Terra-Gen5, with 547MW; LS Power, 450MW; Broad Reach Power, with 339MW; AES has 327MW.
