Trends | Japanese warehouse logistics market research: AMR import intention more than AGV

Logistics Today points out that Logistics robots are evolving from AGV era to AMR, and AMR's unique ability of autonomous movement, autonomous path planning and human-machine hybrid field operation make customers full of expectations for its performance improvement.

On the other hand, when it comes to concerns about the introduction of robot solutions, most respondents focus on costs, including: initial introduction costs such as equipment procurement and on-site transformation (37.8%), maintenance and management costs (33.2%), and docking costs with existing business systems such as WMS (15.5%). Some users (14.8%) further pointed out that the ROI of individual projects is difficult to accurately calculate in advance, and the robot scheme has high threshold of use and trial and error cost, leading to the enterprise wavering in front of the door of digital intelligence upgrade. What thresholds do robots need to cross before moving into more warehouses?

As 2022 approaches, Logistics Today surveyed nearly 1,000 workers to find out what the market is really looking for in warehousing robots.

According to the results, 10 per cent of respondents had deployed robots and 45 per cent had definite plans or were considering introducing them. The trend of AMR becoming the "new mainstream" in the industry is also evident. Only 4.5% of the respondents have already used AMR, while 21.1% plan to introduce AMR, which is the first intention to introduce robot, followed by mechanical arm (16.5%) and AGV (15.2%).

In fact, since its establishment, Syrius Torch star has built low threshold and high efficiency logistics solutions around AMR's technical advantages and general pain points of automation upgrading.

From deployment to process adaptation, the robot is almost 100% adaptive, out of the box;

High-performance system algorithm to ensure capacity expansion speed and flexibility, to achieve dynamic balance between business volume and capacity;

Through rapid integration with upstream management systems such as WMS and OMS, AMR also helps revolutionize warehouse processes and optimize efficiencies from the bottom up.

After more than 3 years of polishing, Syrius Torch star starting from AMR auxiliary picking scheme, gradually build the whole warehouse service capacity covering warehousing, replenishment, picking to the warehouse, the whole process to support the logistics site to improve speed and efficiency. In addition, Syrius Torch also offers a rent-as-you-go RaaS service that allows customers to subscribe to a full AMR solution on a monthly basis without having to purchase hardware or worry about late maintenance costs.
