The Turkish Ministry of Energy has allocated 700 MW of PV capacity in the second part of the 1 GW YEKA 4 PV tender launched last July.
Turkish Photovoltaic Association Günder said the ministry had selected two 100 MW projects and 10 projects with an installed capacity of 50 MW each. The final prices for the 12 projects ranged from TL 0.49 (US$ 0.029)/kWh to TL 0.597/kWh.
For the purchase of YEKA 4, the Ministry of Energy has set a maximum price of 0.40 TRY/kWh. In the first phase of the solar tender, Turkish authorities have selected three 100 MW projects. The three developers offered them 0.375/kWh, 0.39/kWh and 0.427/kWh, respectively.
Including both parts, the minimum bid is TL 0.375/kWh. The final average price was TL 0.51 (USD 0.031)/kWh. In the previous procurement campaign, the lowest bid price was TRY 0.182/kWh for the 1 GW YEKA 3 PV tender.
Selected projects will receive a 15-year power purchase guarantee. The domestic content requirements for equipment selection played an important role in the bidding.
