Beginning in April this year, the United States has set off a "big wave of resignations", with the number of resignations breaking the highest record since 2000.
The number of resignations in August exceeded 4.27 million, and the resignation rate reached a record 2.9%.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said that a large number of people left their old jobs but did not invest in new jobs. As a result, the number of job vacancies in the United States also broke the record, exceeding 10 million.
At the same time, however, the wave of resignations has led to a surge in robot orders.
According to data from the Association For Advancement Automation (A3), in the first September of this year, total robot sales were US$1.48 billion, a year-on-year increase of 34.86%, and broke the record of US$1.47 billion in the same period in 2017.
Most of these are industrial robots, usually used to assemble parts or transport heavy materials in a production environment.
According to A3, the company ordered 9,928 robots in the third quarter, of which 6,302 were from non-automotive industries.
Among non-automotive orders, the fastest growing is the metal industry, which has nearly doubled year-on-year; then the food and consumer goods industry, which has increased by 40%; and the growth rate of semiconductors and electronics is 26%.
Jeff Burnstein, President of A3, said: "With labor shortages in manufacturing, logistics, and almost all industries, companies of all sizes are increasingly turning to robotics and automation to maintain productivity and competitiveness."
