7 major 18650 lithium battery electrochemical testing requirements

1、Charge retention capacity at room temperature

 

Conditions: After standard charging, the battery is placed open-circuit for 28 days, and then discharged to the termination voltage with 0.2C5A.

 

Requirements to meet the standard: discharge time ≥ 255min

 

2, room temperature discharge performance

 

Conditions: In 1 standard atmospheric pressure, ambient temperature 20 ℃ ± 5 ℃, relative humidity of 45% ~ 75% of the conditions, the battery standard charge (the following if not specifically stated, are placed in this condition, all according to this charging method), set aside 30min, respectively, 1C; A, 10C5A, 15C; A discharge to the termination voltage, three cycles, when there is a standard, that is, to meet the Standard requirements (the same below).

 

Requirements meet: A) 1C5A ≥ 1h; B) 10C5A ≥ 5.4min; C) 15CsA ≥ 3.2min

 

3, overcharge and over discharge performance

 

Conditions: After standard charging, the battery is charged to 4.8V with 3CsA current, and then turned to constant voltage charging to terminate at 0.01CsA as of current. After standard charging, the battery is discharged with 1CsA to the termination voltage, and then the positive and negative terminals are connected with a 10Q resistor and left for 14 days.

 

Requirement: no fire, no explosion

 

4、Cycle life

 

Conditions: 1CsA/13C5A discharged to termination voltage, set aside for 30min, and cycle 300 times in this mode;

 

Requirements: 300 cycles after the discharge time ≥ 3.23min

 

5、Discharge performance under different temperatures

 

Conditions: After standard charging, the battery is set aside for 2h at a constant temperature of 60±2℃, discharged to the termination voltage with 0.2CsA, then standard charging at room temperature, set aside for 16h at the corresponding constant temperature in the order of 0±2℃/-20±2℃, discharged to the termination voltage with 0.2C;A.

 

Requirements to achieve: A) 60 ℃ at ≥ 285minB); 0 ℃ at ≥ 240min; C) -20 ℃ at ≥ 180min

 

The battery does not explode and does not catch fire.

 

6, room temperature short-circuit performance

 

Conditions: After charging the battery standard, placed in the explosion-proof glass cover directly short-circuit its positive and negative poles (total line resistance is not greater than 50mQ), when the battery temperature drops to about 10 ℃ lower than the peak test is over. Observe the temperature and appearance changes of the battery.

 

Requirements to achieve: no fire, no explosion

 

7、Constant damp heat performance

 

Conditions: After standard charging of the battery, placed at a temperature of 40 ℃ ± 2 ℃, relative humidity of 90% of the constant temperature and humidity box, set aside 48h, and then remove the battery 20 ± 5 ℃ environment set aside 2h. Observe the changes in the appearance of the battery. Then discharge at 0.2C3A to the termination voltage.

 

Requirements to achieve: discharge time ≥ 180min battery does not catch fire, do not explode
