The RoboVeg Robotti broccoli harvester has been announced as the winner of the Innovation Silver Award from DLG (German Agricultural Association) Agritechnica. RoboVeg Robotti is a joint venture between Denmark's Agro Intelligence ApS and UK-based RoboVeg.

RoboVeg Robotti combines the high-performance Agro Intelligence APS field robot with RoboVeg's broccoli harvesting robot. The Robotti field robot uses two engines with a total output of 104 kW. Of which 40 kilowatts of output power can be tapped out on the power take-off shaft.
The lifting force of the lifting mechanism is 750 kg. RoboVeg is equipped with high-resolution 2D cameras and 3D sensors. Two robotic arms that can rotate around six axes take on the job of harvesting broccoli autonomously. It takes about three seconds for a robotic arm to go from picking broccoli on a field to dropping it. Its harvesting performance is about 2400 units per hour, while the performance of manual harvesting is only about 300-360 units and workers per hour.
While there are already autonomous robots for seeding, weed control, and raking, harvest automation has not been proven possible until now. The RoboVeg Robotti is the first autonomous robotic system for harvesting broccoli, thus contributing to a significant increase in productivity. For growers, this means increased efficiency and lower costs.
