Recently, the MacIntyre wind farm project (MacIntyre), jointly invested by Spanish renewable energy company Acciona Energía and Australian local company CleanCo Queensland, officially started construction.
The project is located in Queensland, Australia, with a total investment of 2 billion Australian dollars (about 1.45 billion US dollars). The entire project includes the construction of two power plants at Karara and MacIntyre and 180 turbines. Among them, the Carrara Power Plant held by Queensland Clean Energy Company contains 18 turbines with an annual installed capacity of 102.6 MW; the McIntyre Power Plant held by Axun Energy Company contains 162 turbines with an annual installed capacity of 102.6 MW. 923.4 MW.
After the project is completed, the total installed capacity of power generation will exceed 1 GW/year, reaching 1,026 MW/year (1 GW equals 1,000 MW), which can meet the electricity demand of 700,000 households and create 450 direct jobs in the construction industry jobs, and 220 jobs in the field of transmission infrastructure construction. The McIntyre wind farm is expected to be operational in 2024 and will be the largest wind farm ever in Australia and one of the largest in the southern hemisphere, and will strongly support the Queensland government to achieve 50% of its electricity supply by 2030. Renewable energy targets.
In this regard, Anxun Energy pointed out that the McIntyre wind power plant project is the largest project the company has carried out in the world and will become the company's landmark project for many years.
In addition, Ark Energy, an Australian zinc mining company also located in Queensland, has also participated in the investment in the project.
