Break into platform mode

Although the platform model can bring more imagination for the future development of industrial robot industry, industrial robot products are always a necessary basic carrier of technical output and functional services. According to IFR, Fanuc, ABB and Yaskawa Are the world's top three in terms of market share in 2020, with 17.3 percent, 15.7 percent and 12.9 percent, respectively. Among them, focusing on the domestic, China's industrial robot market is still dominated by overseas brands, in the list of local brands only Eston with 3.26% of the market share into the top nine.

Obviously, on the way of the rise of domestic industrial robot brands, a number of powerful overseas brands are in the loop. It is worth noting that as China's demand for industrial robots accelerates, foreign brands are paying more attention to the Chinese market. Fanuc, ABB and Yaskawa Electric plan to invest in Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places in the next two years to expand capacity and start the production of core components.
On the one hand, domestic brands benefit from the supply chain of these overseas giants, on the other hand, they have to face more difficult market competition, which may be more worried than happy.
At the foot of the road in
Looking back at the breakthrough of domestic industrial robots, platform mode is gratifying, but the competition of industrial robot market is also deplorable. If you want to go the way of the former, you must seek a breakthrough in the innovation of the latter.
From the current domestic situation, there is no problem with this idea. Today, the industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing wave repeatedly, according to the CCID Consultant "2020~2021 China industrial Internet Market research annual report" shows that the total scale of China's industrial Internet market in 2020 reached 671.27 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 10.4%, The networking, digitization and intellectualization of industrial scene are entering a stage of rapid popularization.

According to IFR data, the density of conventional manufacturing robots in China other than automobile manufacturing is 95 robots per 10,000 people, while the average density of robots in all manufacturing industries is 187 robots per 10,000 people. So one can only hope that as the competitive landscape changes, so do the opportunities presented. For example, when platform services become a norm, domestic brands can rely on local advantages in IT operation and maintenance, data center, after-sales service and other aspects to further enhance service competitiveness, so as to avoid one-sided competition with overseas brands in robot products.
So, at this stage, domestic industrial robot brands are also a lot more profitable.
