Dubai Electricity and Water Authority P.J.S.C. ("DEWA") has announced the launch of a competitive tendering process for the selection of a suitable developer or consortium of developers to share the ownership of a project company established under Dubai and UAE law for an Independent Power Generation Project (IPP) Way to build and operate the sixth phase of a new solar photovoltaic power generation project.
The project, with a total capacity of 900MW AC, is located within the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar power plant (the "Project"), approximately 50 km south of Dubai City, and will be commissioned in phases starting in the third quarter of 2025.
Project generation will be purchased by DEWA under a long-term power purchase agreement ("PPA").
The invitation letter shows that interested parties who have experience in undertaking similar projects can submit an electronic text of an Expression of Interest (EOI) to DEWA by email before 12 noon on October 10, 2022. The Letter of Intent must include the company name, a brief description of the event, the country where the company is headquartered, the main contact person, address, direct dial telephone number, mobile phone number, fax number and email address.
Upon receipt of the Letter of Intent, DEWA will formally register the Intent for further consideration. Upon receipt of the confidentiality undertaking, DEWA will provide additional information on subsequent progress and procedures in due course.
