EnergyTrend: The development of electric vehicles and renewable energy varies in different regions

With climate change, new energy trends have become an important trend in the development of various industries, but the development of different regions around the world, according to research firm EnergyTrend, looking at the next five years, electric vehicles, renewable energy and clean energy will be different, depending on the resources and goals of each region.

Carbon dioxide emissions from the transportation industry have reached 60% of the total emissions, so electric vehicles (xEVs) products and issues have gradually received attention in recent years, but countries focus on different types of new energy vehicles, EnergyTrend said, North America oil penetration is still higher than electricity, Therefore, the focus of development is on gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle (HEV) and plug-in gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle (PHEV). Countries such as Israel or Japan, which want to wean themselves off oil, are actively pursuing all-electric vehicles (BEV).

On a product-by-product basis, the HEV is moving toward a more affordable specification of about $20,000 to $25,000 per volume, compared with about $35,000 to $45,000 for a PHEV, EnergyTrend said, adding that BEV is also actively planning technologies and side services such as charging.

From the perspective of renewable energy and clean energy, EnergyTrend said that different regions have different development goals due to the dual influence of natural conditions and anthropogenic policies. Currently, Europe has a more active renewable energy development target. According to the Eu's plan, it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020. Europe is now the world leader in solar and wind power markets and technologies by increasing the share of renewable energy to more than 20% of total energy use.

According to EnergyTrend, China and the United States account for the top three Coal reserves in the world and are highly dependent on traditional petrochemical energy. Therefore, the development of Clean Coal and biomass energy (ethanol and biodiesel) is relatively active. However, Japan is limited to an island country and has developed solar energy and fuel cell related technologies more deeply. On the other hand, Brazil developed bioethanol related technologies 20 years ago due to its rich natural resources. Therefore, the global energy industry trend in the next five years may vary with different regions.
