The German Energy Corporation RWE announced a plan to expand its solar business to Britain through the development of the development 600MW solar project. The Twain Bridge Solar Farm is located between Yorkshire and Lincoln County. Solar power generation, battery storage, land wind energy and animal husbandry are held at the same time. The project will support one of the largest low -area sheep farms in the UK and is expected to begin operations in 2029.
The project will be located next to RWE's existing Tween Bridge on land wind farm, and recently reached a capacity agreement with the State Grid. After the project's environmental report is submitted to the Planning and Inspection Bureau, it will start a detailed environmental survey. The company has begun early negotiations with the land owner and the planning authorities to inform the design and layout of the venue.
Rhein Group stated in a statement that Rhein Group is committed to makingly meaningful consultations with local communities and other stakeholders, and is expected to conduct informal consultations in the spring of 2023. Once the proposal is finally determined, the RWE will submit an application for the development consent order to the Planning and Inspection Bureau to seek a planning permit.
Rhein Group is also developing Grimsby Hub, which is the expansion operation and maintenance base of Grimesby's Royal Wharf. Grimsby provides professional services for its offshore fleet, while creating employment opportunities and apprenticeships for local communities. RWE acquired Western Power Offshore Developments, which is currently developing the East Celtic Windfield Project at the Irish Sea.
