On November 18th, Great Wall Motors (601633) (GWM) officially opened a German subsidiary in Munich and established its European headquarters as a center for developing the European continental market. This is another strategic move taken by Great Wall Motors after its landing at the 2021 Munich Auto Show, and will accelerate the implementation of Great Wall Motors' European strategy.

It is understood that the functions of the European headquarters will cover research and development, sales, management, etc. Among them, research and development will focus on vehicle integration, vehicle component development, electronic power system platform development and integration, intelligent driving, and Internet of Vehicles. The Great Wall Motors Munich team will continue to expand, and it is expected that the total number will increase to nearly 300 by the beginning of 2022.
Great Wall Motors stated that the establishment of its European headquarters will strengthen and expand cooperation between Great Wall Motors and its suppliers, including investments in upstream and downstream supply chains. Prior to this, Great Wall's Honeycomb Energy has formally selected Saarland, Germany to build a battery factory with a total investment of 2 billion euros, including two factories in the battery cell module factory and the module PACK factory; Mei has a covered production base.
Great Wall Motors is building a lifestyle ecosystem for European users, not only providing high-quality products, but also providing a complete car life experience, such as charging services, maintenance and repair services, active smart cockpit services, and used car replacement services.
In addition, the Great Wall Motor Brand Experience Center is scheduled to open in Munich and Berlin in 2022, which is the core point of contact between Great Wall Motors and its customers. The smart models WEY Coffee 01 and ORA Cat have been exhibited at the 2021 Munich Auto Show. Pre-sales are about to start, and the first batch of vehicles will be delivered in the first half of 2022.
