One is to add a PTC heating system to ensure that the battery temperature is not too low. In this way, the structure is simple and the cost is relatively low, but it needs to consume electricity to heat, which also sacrifices part of the endurance. Therefore, this method, which has limited protection for range and is more suitable for the south, is the method adopted by most car companies at present.


The other is PTC+ diesel heating system, this direction represents the company is Weima. The principle of the second generation thermal management system is based on PTC, and then through the diesel heating system to heat the liquid in the pipeline around the battery pack, to ensure that the battery is in the appropriate temperature range, so as to ensure the stability of the battery life. This method works faster and is more secure in low temperature environment, but to some extent, it violates the original purpose of energy saving and environmental protection of electric vehicles.


The third is the motor blocking technology, the typical application is Tesla. Working principle is to use the motor winding as a heating resistance, with the waste heat generated by the motor to heat the battery pack. This technology is important for low temperature heat pump system does not work in the environment, when the temperature is between -10℃ ~ 10℃, PTC with heat pump air conditioning heating insulation.
