In 2022, the installed capacity of the domestic solar energy-storage project in Germany increased by 52%

In 2022, the number of solar energy and energy storage system installed in Germany increased by 52%over the previous year. At the same time, three -quarters of the Germans would consider installing the roof solar energy.

According to the research and calculations of the German Solar Energy Industry Association (BSW) and the comments received by PV Tech, in the past four years, household solar cell systems have increased by five times and the capacity of independent households has increased by four times. In 2022, the installed capacity of the domestic solar-storage project in Germany increased by 52%, and domestic photovoltaic deployment increased by more than 40%.

BSW found that three -quarters of homeowners will consider installing solar photovoltaic, one -fifth of which is planned to be installed in the next 12 months.

BSW said that the rise in energy prices and consumers' desire for long -term stability and predictability are the main driving force for homeowners to adopt this technology. In fact, the association's survey of 1022 German homeowners found that 61%of people believe that rising electricity costs is the main reason for the use of roof solar energy. The second reason (52%) is the desire to independent of energy suppliers.

The growth of energy storage systems comes from similar motivations, but with the growth of electric vehicles and heat pumps, household batteries become more attractive. A study by Solarpower EUROPE found that compared with families that simply rely on power grids and gas boilers, the combination of roof photovoltaic and heat pumps can save 62%of electricity costs for Germans.

Germany has set a grand goal of deploying 215GW photovoltaic in 2030. Households and commercial departments can really play their role in achieving these goals. BSW said that in addition to deploying solar energy of various sizes, energy storage will become increasingly becoming the key to supporting the State Grid, stable intermittent solar energy and wind energy assets. BSW calls on the energy storage capacity by 8 times to reach 55GWh by 2030.
