In the third quarter of 2022, the United States deployed a total of 1444MW/5189MWH energy storage project

According to an investigation report released by the analysis and research agency Wood Mackenzie, the United States deployed 1444MW/5189MWH energy storage system in the third quarter of 2022.

This is the conclusion obtained by Wood Mackenzie's latest US energy storage monitoring report.

Among them, in the third quarter of 2022, the vast majority of the power storage system of power grid was 1257MW/4733MWH. This is the maximum deployment data of the power grid -scale energy storage system observed by Wood Mackenzie, breaking the 4598MWH deployment record in the first quarter of 2021.

Among these battery energy storage projects, California and Texas accounted for more than 96% -or more accurately that they are the California Independent System Operators (CAISO) market and Texas Electricity Electricity Committee ( Ercot) market.

According to Wood Mackenzie's past survey report, in 2021, the United States deployed a total of 10.5GWH energy storage systems, including 9.2GWH power grid scale energy storage systems, which were deployed only 3,487MWH energy storage in 2020. The system has increased significantly compared to.

Although the power storage system of the power grid continues to dominate, the residential energy storage system has also increased.

In the third quarter of this year, the size of the residential battery energy storage system was 161MW/400MWH, which was equivalent to deploying 23,000 residential battery energy storage systems, exceeding the 375MWH record deployed in the second quarter of 2022.

California and Texas are also leaders in the field of US residential energy storage. Puerto Rico and Hawaii also followed. These two regions have become vigorously developing capabilities due to their independent island grids and dependence on imported fuels. market.

Wood Mackenzie also said that the non -residential energy storage market (including commerce and industrial and communities) reported in its report will grow rapidly in the next few years.

However, compared with other fields, the non -residential energy storage market is still significantly behind. The non -residential energy storage system deployed in the third quarter of this year is only 26.6MW/56.2MWh.

This has made it one of the most active quarters since the record, and the installed capacity of non -residential energy storage systems deployed in the second quarter of this year is also very low.

Wood Mackenzie predicts that from 2022 to 2026, the cumulative deployment volume of all the subdivided energy storage markets in the United States will reach 64.6GW/194GWh. Although the power storage system of the power grid will still occupy a dominant position, its market share will drop to about 84%.
