The African Development Bank (AfDB) is bidding for a consulting firm to conduct technical due diligence for four solar+energy storage projects in Mauritius.
The bidding documents state that the total installed capacity of these four battery energy storage projects is 100MW and will be deployed by independent power producers.
According to the latest statistics from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), by the end of 2022, Mauritius had deployed a cumulative installed capacity of 110MW of battery energy storage projects, while the country did not deploy a new energy storage system last year.
In March 2022, the Central Electricity Board (CEB) of Mauritius issued two bids for the deployment of a 140MW solar+energy storage project.
