Mexico announced a new commitment on the COP27 held in Egypt, including the 30GW new renewable energy plan.
According to a joint statement issued by Mexico, the country plans to increase the capacity of new wind, solar, geothermal and hydropower by 2030 by 2030. This will make the comprehensive power generation of wind and solar energy exceed 40GW.
Mexico also outlines a preliminary investment plan of up to $ 48 billion (46 billion euros) to achieve new renewable energy goals.
Mexico's ambitions include reduced the amount of greenhouse gas emissions by 35%in the next eight years, an increase of 22%compared with the previous commitment.
