Recently, the Moroccan Sustainable Energy Agency Masson launched a bidding ceremony to seek EPC general contractors to build photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 260 MW. It will be launched in 6 cities including Ain Beni Mathar, Enjil, Boudnib, Outat el Haj, Bouanane and Tan Tan etá Tata, with a total of 7 photovoltaic power plants planned.
The projects are part of Morocco's Noor Solar Plan. Morocco launched the Noor Solar Plan in 2009, which is expected to carry out photovoltaic projects of at least 2 GW, and plans to increase the proportion of renewable energy in its electricity production capacity to 42% by 2020 and to 52% by 2030.
In the latest tender, Masson has increased the capacity of the PV plant to 333MW. The final results of the tender will be announced on October 30 this year.
