Pakistan 2021-22 A total of 280MW solar energy

The Pakistan National Electricity Regulatory Bureau (NEPRA) released the annual report of fiscal 2021-22. The regulatory agency approved the license to 9 solar projects with a total installed capacity of 44.74 MW, and a total of 7032 net metering project permits of 243.43 mW.

NEPRA revealed in its new 2021-22 annual report that a total of 12 power generation licenses were approved, with a total capacity of 211.42 mW, of which 9 were awarded solar projects with a total of 44.74 mW.

The remaining three were awarded natural gas, hydraulic and coal power generation projects. Hydropower projects have the largest capacity, 152.12 MW; and the largest photovoltaic project size is 20 mW. According to the report, the installed capacity of the Pakistan power department has increased to more than 40,000 mW.

The regulatory agency also issued 7032 net measuring permits, almost all solar projects, with a total installed capacity of 243.43 mW. Prior to this, the country's government issued a notice that the net meter -in distributed power generation facilities of solar energy and wind energy of no more than 25 kW no longer need to be a power generation permit. Pakistan 2021-2022 approved a total of 288 MW new solar capacity.

NEPRA will also inject the price of net metering households into the power grid into the price of excess power, from PKR 19.32 ($ 0.089)/kwh to PKR 9/KWH.

In May, the government authorities launched a new model for the Pakistani Electric Power Wholesale Market, namely the bilateral contract market (CTBCM) model of competitive trade. According to the website of the State Central Electric Power Procurement Bureau (CPPA), the purpose is to "introduce competition in the power market and create a favorable environment for multi -party sellers and buyers to conduct power transactions."

NEPRA approved four electricity purchase agreements during 2021-22, one of which was signed for a solar company. The report also pointed out that the regulatory agency approved the license regulations of the microscopic grid, "the vision is to allow the country's remote areas to use power."
