German developer Goldbeck Solar said it had started a 204MW solar power plant in Zwartowo in northern Poland.
The project is the first phase of a 290MW generation plan that also includes another 86MW power plant. The company invested 635 million zlotys (about $128.8 million) in the 204MW power plant. The solar power plant covers an area of 300 hectares and has already started construction in the first quarter of 2021.
The power plant is owned by Stigma, a special purpose company controlled by Green Energy Services, a joint venture between Solarnet Investment and the division of Goldbeck's Energy Consult company, Solarnet Investment GmbH. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Poland's Pekao Bank and PKO Bank are the main lenders for the project.
The inverter for the solar power plant is supplied by German manufacturer SMA Solar Technology, and the solar modules are supplied by Chinese manufacturer Suntech.
