Global energy storage platform provider Powin LLC (Powin) today announced the acquisition of EKS Energy (EKS), a leading provider of advanced power electronics and energy management solutions for energy storage and renewable energy. This transaction ensures that Powin's new and existing customers will receive enhanced products and technology offerings, enabling Powin to provide a fully integrated grid-scale energy storage experience with supply chain security.
Global demand for energy storage will continue to soar to a $49 billion market by 2028 as the world transitions to cleaner energy. To better serve this rapidly growing market, the acquisition expands Powin's product range to include EKS power conversion systems and power plant controllers, enabling Powin to offer a complete AC energy storage platform with advanced Control capabilities to support microgrid applications while connecting assets with multiple generations of power generation. Other new products include photovoltaic inverters, DC-DC converters and multi-port inverters, which are used to maximize the performance and profitability of utility-scale solar-plus-storage projects.
