On November 4th, hybrid lithium metal battery manufacturer SES held its inaugural SES Battery World event. At the event, SES released a lithium metal battery called Apollo™ and announced the construction plan of the factory.

In 10-hour, 3-hour, and 1-hour discharge tests at room temperature, Apollo™ batteries all demonstrated extremely high capacity and energy density.
Hybrid lithium metal batteries have advantages over lithium-ion batteries in energy density, while also having advantages over solid-state battery processes.
At present, the battery is still under development and will be tested for a period of time. If the battery is successfully launched, it will be a new reshuffle for the battery industry.
Commercial Background:
At present, SES is cooperating with General Motors and Hyundai Motor, and plans to launch vehicle-grade lithium metal battery A samples next year, and officially start the commercial mass production of lithium metal batteries in 2025.
In addition, Dr. Hu Qichao also announced that SES is building a Shanghai Gigafactory, which is scheduled to be completed in 2023, with a total area of 30,000 square meters. After completion, the production capacity will reach 1 GWh, and it will also be the world's largest lithium metal battery factory.
