SoftBank Partners with Chinese Company: Promoting Chinese Food Delivery Robots to Developed Markets

SoftBank Robotics, a subsidiary of Japan's SoftBank Group, has partnered with Chinese food delivery robot company Shanghai Prime Smart Technology in an effort to expand into the European and American markets.

DynaLang has the largest market share in China in the food delivery robot segment. SoftBank Robotics will provide the robots to restaurants through both long and short-term leases and will provide advice on the operational efficiency of the customer's business. Upscale Chinese restaurant companies in Singapore have already decided to introduce it.

As for the target market for expansion, SoftBank envisions developed markets with high labor costs and huge demand for robots. The data of client companies will then be managed by SoftBank robots on an autonomous cloud platform.

There is a view that the introduction of robots in the service industry such as restaurants may affect the quality of service, but Kenichi Yoshida, SoftBank's head of robot business promotion, said that people's awareness has changed under the epidemic and the image of robots giving consumers safety is being strengthened.
