A few days ago, according to SNE Research of South Korea, the installed capacity of electric vehicle power battery in the world in 2022 was about 517.9GWh, up 71.8% year on year.
Among them, CATL continues to lead the world. In 2022, with the installed capacity of 191.6GWh, the global market share was 37%, far exceeding the sum of the installed capacity of the second, third and fourth places. The installed capacity of CATL power batteries has also ranked the first in the world for six consecutive years.
In addition, CATL also maintained an ultra-high growth rate of 92.5% year-on-year in 2022. With the cooperation of more international customers, CATL accelerated its impact towards the goal of 50% of the global market share.
BYD, with its new energy vehicles selling well, will have 70.4 GWh of power battery installed capacity in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 167.1%, ranking second in the world with LG New Energy, with a global market share of 13.6%.
However, CATL and BYD, the two power battery giants, have accounted for more than 50% of the global market share of power batteries, accounting for "half of the country".
Japan's Panasonic Battery, South Korea's SK On and Samsung SDI, three Japanese and South Korean enterprises, belong to the second tier, with installed capacity of more than 20GWh.
