On February 9, according to foreign media reports, as auto manufacturers increase investment in electric vehicles and the demand for electric vehicles increases, the demand for various key components such as batteries is also increasing.
According to the latest data released by the research institute, the newly installed battery of electric vehicles in the world last year, including pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and hybrid vehicles, reached 517.9GWh, an increase of 216.4GWh compared with 301.5GWh in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 71.8%.
Last year's year-on-year growth continued to increase significantly, which means that from 2017-2022, the installed capacity of global electric vehicle batteries has increased for five consecutive years, from 59GWh in 2017 to 517.9GWh last year, with a compound annual growth rate of 54%.
The research institute also mentioned in the report that with the increase of the demand for electric vehicles, the installed capacity of electric vehicle batteries in the world next year is expected to be close to 749GWh, with a year-on-year increase of nearly 45%.
According to the report of the research institute, the installed capacity of the major electric vehicle battery manufacturers increased last year. Among the top ten manufacturers, the installed capacity of many manufacturers doubled year on year. Panasonic, with the lowest growth rate, also increased 4.6% year on year, followed by 18.5% of LG New Energy.
