Recently, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Dr. Keith D.Kepler, CTO of Foeneng Technology, and his delegation at the Presidential Palace. The latter introduced to President Erdogan the situation of battery product development, research, investment and production in Turkey.
Dr. Keith D.Kepler, Co-founder and CTO of Vouneng Technology, attended the meeting as a key member of SiRo. SiRo is a joint venture between Feunen technologies and Turkish car company TOGG to develop energy solutions. TOGG CEO and SiRo Board Chairman M. Gurcan Karakaş, TOGG Board Chairman Rifat Hisarcı KL ı O ğlu and Vice Chairman Tuncay Ozilhan also attended the meeting.
Funeng Technology, power battery, soft pack battery
On 28 October, in the presence of Mustafa Varank, minister of industry and technology of Turkey, SiRo enterprise representatives signed the investment plan and incentive document for the company's 20GWh battery. The Turkish side attaches great importance to bilateral cooperation. The delegation later met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Palace.
After the meeting, Rifat Hisarcı KL ı O ğlu, chairman of the board of Directors of TOGG, the earth cooperation company of Funeng Technology, issued a statement, expressing high expectations for the cooperation with Funeng Technology. "TOGG can produce and package battery modules through SiRo and develop energy storage solutions in Turkey and surrounding countries," he said. With this initiative, we expect to be a pioneer in improving the efficiency of our energy system, reducing external dependence and accelerating the development of clean and efficient energy systems."
Rifat Hisarcı KL ıoğlu praised The company as one of the largest manufacturers of soft pack batteries in the global battery market, developing energy storage solutions for automotive and non-automotive applications. He also said that China-Turkey cooperation enjoys a long history. "SiRo is an acronym for Silk Road," he said. The Silk Road was an important trade route between the East and the West in history and played an important role in the development of civilization. The birth of SiRo is an important strategic step that will contribute to the technological transformation of Turkey's mobile ecosystem as a result of our close cooperation with Feuneng technologies.
Speaking after the meeting, Dr Keith Kepler, Co-founder and CTO of Vounergy, also said: "Our joint venture with TOGG in Turkey is one of the most important partnerships for Vounergy overseas in the coming years and we are committed to doing our best."
