Alphabet, Google's parent company, plans to use robots in its offices

Alphabet, Google's parent company, is working on bringing robotsto offices to perform everyday tasks.

The robot was provided by X-Alphabet's Moonshot factory, a team of professionals focused on solving next-generation problems. Since its founding in 2010, Moonshot Factory has produced some notable projects including Google Glass, giant balloons that beam the Internet to remote corners of the world, sustainable wind power using kites and Waymo for autonomous transportation.

The team at X-Alphabet is building robots to learn office tasks, including wiping desks, sorting trash, opening doors and arranging chairs in conference rooms. This paves the way for robots moving around office environments that can perform simple human tasks but also coexist with humans. As X-Alphabet envisions in this way, the future is bringing robots into real environments to learn how to cope with change.

IT Home understands that the robots are taught in an office-based environment and initially require nearly four months of training. Over time, the X-Alphabet team improved, reducing the training time to one day and achieving 90 percent accuracy. The robots will initially go to Alphabet's Mountain View office.
