On July 15, BYD officially announced that BYD has received an order for 15 pure electric buses from Spanish bus operator Arriva for the first time. These vehicles are expected to be delivered in 2023 and will be put into operation in Alcorcón, a city southwest of Madrid.
It is reported that BYD's new order includes 12 12-meter low-floor pure electric buses and 3 13-meter low-entry pure electric buses. Both models use a new generation of lithium iron phosphate batteries independently developed by BYD.
BYD said that the 13-meter low-entry pure electric bus entering the Iberian Peninsula for the first time has a reinforced interior and is equipped with an intelligent early warning system, which greatly improves vehicle safety. The model will mainly serve a number of intercity routes around Madrid.
