Recently, CATL and Arun Plus Co., Ltd. (Arun Plus) of Thailand reached a CTP (efficient group technology) cooperation agreement. The two sides will be committed to meeting the local demand for electric vehicle production and helping Thailand to become a battery production center in Southeast Asia.
According to the agreement, CATL will provide Arun Plus with the CTP battery pack production line and share the CTP battery pack production technology.
Arun Plus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), which has established a sound energy infrastructure in Thailand. In November 2022, Arun Plus established an electric vehicle manufacturing subsidiary to meet the growing demand for electrification in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
Based on the shared vision of "creating a green future through innovative technologies", this cooperation will help enhance Arun Plus's electric vehicle production capacity, thereby promoting the construction of power battery ecosystems in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
This cooperation is also an important step for CATL to improve its global layout, which will help CATL explore diversified cooperation models in Southeast Asia and other regional markets, and accelerate the transformation of global electrification and clean energy.
