In March 2022, SGS, a world-renowned certification body, issued the PAS2060 carbon neutrality certificate to Sichuan Times, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL, and the Yibin factory of CATL became the world's first zero-carbon battery factory.
CATL Yibin Factory is located in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Yibin is located at the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces. Jinsha River, Minjiang River and Yangtze River traverse the northern part of the city. Energy comes from renewable energy hydropower, which can reduce carbon emissions by 400,000 tons per year.
The Yibin factory has become the world's first zero-carbon battery factory, which is an important milestone for CATL to achieve carbon neutrality. . In the future, CATL will also replicate and promote the experience of the lighthouse factory, gradually achieve carbon neutrality in the top ten bases in the world, help the industrial chain to build a more sustainable ecosystem, and contribute to the achievement of the global dual-carbon goal.
