First, protect the charger. There are general instructions on the protection of the charger. A lot of users do not have the habit of reading instructions, often think of looking for instructions in addition to the problem, often it is too late, so it is very necessary to read instructions first. In order to reduce costs, current chargers are basically not designed to withstand high vibration, so chargers are generally not placed in the trunk and basket of electric bicycles. In special cases, it is necessary to move the charger, but also to wrap it in foam plastic to prevent vibration and jolting. Many chargers after vibration, its internal potentiometer will drift, so that the whole parameter drift, leading to abnormal charging state. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the ventilation of the charger when charging, otherwise not only the life of the charger will be affected, but also the thermal drift may occur and affect the charging state. This will cause damage to the battery. Therefore, it is very important to protect the charger.


Secondly, correctly grasp the charging time. Under normal driving conditions, if the indicator light of the meter is red and yellow, it should be charged; If the yellow light is off and only the red light is on, stop charging as soon as possible, otherwise the battery will shorten its life because of excessive discharge. Some people are used to charging every time before going out, and sometimes only run for a very short time. At this time, the charging time should not be too long, otherwise it will overcharge and make the battery heat. Under normal circumstances, the average charging time of automobile battery is about 10 hours. Overcharging, overdischarging and undercharging will shorten the battery life. If the battery temperature exceeds 65℃ during charging, stop charging immediately.


Third, avoid heat from the plug when charging. Loose 220 VOLT power plug or charger output plug, contact surface oxidation and other phenomena will lead to plug heating, heating time is too long will lead to short circuit or poor contact plug, damage charger and battery, bring you unnecessary losses. Therefore, when the above situation is found, the oxide should be removed in time or the connector should be replaced.


Fourth, no exposure to the sun. After exposure to sunlight, the battery will lose water due to increased internal pressure, resulting in decreased battery activity and accelerated plate aging.


Fifth, charge your batteries every day. Even if your ability to run is not long, a single charge can be used for 2 to 3 days, but it is recommended that you charge the battery every day, so that the battery in a shallow cycle state, the battery life will be extended. Some early mobile phone users thought it was best to recharge batteries after they had been mostly used, but this was not the case. Lead-acid batteries do not provide as strong a memory benefit. Often put out of the battery life is relatively large. Most chargers may be 97% to 99% charged after the indicator turns to indicate full charge. Although only 1% to 3% of the power undercharge, the impact on the running capacity can be almost ignored, but it will also form undercharge accumulation, so the battery is fully charged after changing the lamp or continue to float charging as far as possible, is also beneficial to suppress the battery vulcanization.


Finally, in the process of driving should try to avoid stepping on acceleration, stroke moment of large current discharge. When an electric vehicle starts, carries people, and climbs a hill, it will form an instant large current discharge if it accelerates violently. Lead sulfate crystal is easily generated in high current discharge, which damages the physical properties of battery plate. If there is a sudden decrease in the speed of dozens of kilometers, we must be careful that there may be a problem with a group of batteries, should be checked as soon as possible.
