Therefore, the Arvato system is making a major contribution to the development of intelligent transportation systems to facilitate the transportation of goods and commodities. As the consortium leader of the "Gaia-X 4 Rome" project, Arvato is undertaking the conceptualization, development, and implementation of the new mobility platform, which will run until September 2024 with the participation of 18 partners from research and industry. The focus is on the first and last traffic miles in urban areas, which will be mastered with the help of so-called autonomous navigation parcel stations. In addition, data from major operations will be integrated into the overall delivery concept. With the help of real-time positioning data and arrival predictions, the protagonists want to achieve the highest utilization of driverless delivery vehicles and ensure reduced waiting and congestion times.
Specifically, end customers can communicate autonomously navigating parcel stations through the platform prior to delivery and agree on when and where the delivery will take place.
