Germany's new photovoltaic capacity in May alone reached 1040 MW, and the cumulative photovoltaic power generation has reached 72.5 GW.
The Bundesnetzagentur report states that the country registered 1040 MW of new photovoltaic systems in May. This number has significantly increased from the 881 MW new capacity added in April, and the increase compared to the 548 MW new photovoltaic installed capacity added in May 2022 is also considerable.
In the first five months of this year, Germany's newly added photovoltaic installed capacity reached 4.97 GW, compared to approximately 2.65 GW in the same period last year.
Among the photovoltaic power generation deployed in the first five months of this year, approximately 1235 MW was installed in the southern state of Bavaria. The second is North Rhine-Westphalia, with a new capacity of 750 MW. Baden-Württemberg State added 661.5 MW, ranking third.
As of the end of May, Germany's cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity has reached 72.5 GW. In order to achieve the goal of adding 215 GW of solar energy installations by 2030, the country needs to add at least 1.55 GW of solar energy per month.
