Germany's latest solar bidding, 609MW approved

The German Federal Network announced the result of its recent large -scale photovoltaic bidding. The bidding project has a capacity of 890MW, received 677MW applications, and only 609MW was approved.

The Federal Networks Bureau pointed out that the annual bidding project of more than 3000MW in 2022 was the reason for this poor performance, and the original goal was about 1.2GW. BundesverBand SolarwirtSchaft (BSW) said the price of components and the failure to adapt to this situation were the main reasons that caused this bidding result.

The price of 104 winning projects that constitute 609MW is 0.052-0.059 euros/kWh, and the average weighted price is 0.058 euros/kWh. Compared with the price in April, the 1.1GW project was signed at the time, with an average cost of 0.0519 euros/kWh.

Bavaria occupies most of the project's share. The capacity of 60 contract projects reaches 307MW. Most of the winning projects (310MW) are cultivated land or pastoral projects, of which 239MW flows to Bavaria.

When commented on the bidding, BSW stated that the government's electricity brakes will set up the upper limit of consumer electricity prices by plundering the profit of suppliers, which will hinder investment in solar power stations. The policy will take effect next year. Since September 2022, Germany has traced taxes on profits.

The Netherlands has recently launched a similar plan that has caused concerns about industry commentators. They believe that too high solar taxes may hinder the development of the industry.

BSW said in public comments today that the success of German energy transformation is threatened by these cost issues. BSW calls on the Federal House to consider the price increase of solar projects.

BSW also announced the results of the investigation. The results showed that Germany's solar grid in 2022 is expected to increase by 25%over last year. In May of this year, PV Tech Premium discussed the plan for Germany to achieve 215GW photovoltaic installation capacity in 2030.
