According to the latest Global Wind Power Supply Side Report released by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), global wind turbine manufacturers have set a new record for deliveries in 2021.
The report pointed out that despite the impact of the new crown epidemic, as well as rising raw material prices and logistics pressures, 30 wind turbine manufacturers around the world will still achieve 104.7GW of new hoisting capacity in 2021.
In 2021, a total of 29,234 wind turbines produced by 30 complete machine manufacturers will be installed worldwide, of which 18 manufacturers are from the Asia-Pacific region and 9 are from Europe.
In the list of the world's top 15 complete machine manufacturers, Chinese companies account for ten. Vestas, Goldwind, Siemens Gamesa, Envision Energy, and GE occupy the top five in the world.
The power and impeller size of newly added fans continue to increase. In 2021, the average power of newly installed fans will exceed 3.5 MW, and fans with impeller diameters greater than 140 meters will account for 58% of the newly installed capacity. This is due to a new record for offshore wind turbine installations in 2021.
Medium-speed fans are beginning to be favored by the market. Compared with 2020, the share of medium-speed fans has increased by 3.6 percentage points to 9.7%. Mingyang Intelligence and Vestas are representative companies of medium-speed transmission chain solutions, but both Goldwind Technology and Shanghai Electric Wind Power will launch commercialized medium-speed wind turbine products for the first time in 2021.
