GMP company plans to double the battery energy storage system in Vermont

According to foreign media reports, Green Mountain Power (GMP), a headquarters in Fermont, has released a plan to increase the battery energy storage system investment recently. The company is the first Tesla PowerWall battery energy storage system in the United States. Public institutional companies to build virtual power plants (VPP).

GMP has recently said that the scale of the existing 30MW grid -connected battery energy storage system (including residential and large systems) will be increased to 55MW.

The GMP company plans to install additional 25MW battery energy storage systems in 6 communities in its service area in the next two years. The company's customers have benefited from the existing energy storage system. These energy storage systems can meet the peak demand of GMP companies, reduce power grids and energy costs, and reduce carbon emissions for their 250,000 household users.

In fact, GMP is the first public institutional company in the United States to sell the first -generation Tesla residential battery energy storage system. The battery energy storage system was launched in 2015. GMP launched the virtual power plant (VPP) plan in 2017 to integrate the Tesla PowerWall battery energy storage system and put it into the wholesale market.

In 2021, the company further allowed virtual power plants (VPP) to perform power grid balance frequency adjustment auxiliary services. These plans have now expanded to include battery storage equipment from other suppliers such as ENPHASE company into its "Byod" programs.

The company said that according to the current deployment level, its battery storage system saves about $ 3 million for customers each year.

In late July, the Eastern United States suffered a heat wave attack, and GMP stressed that its customers used a battery energy storage system to provide a key role in providing energy when operating in Fermont's air -conditioning units to reach peak.

In about a week, it saved the company's cost of about 1.2 million US dollars and met about 50,000 household energy consumption needs.

The idea behind the "Bringing Equipment" project is that the customer purchases the battery energy storage system to achieve its own solar power facilities and use it as a spare power supply, and then the public institutional company provides the power payment fee provided by the customer's battery energy storage system.

GMP is cooperating with the developer Agilitas Energy to develop a new large -scale battery energy storage system. The company has begun to deploy a 3MW/6MW battery energy storage project in the town of Bristol, Bristol, Permon.

Like other battery energy storage systems in the GMP investment portfolio, the energy storage project of Agilitas will enter the service area of the power grid operator Isonew ENGland.
