It is reported that the Green Investment Group (GIG) and Shell Energy Company have recently announced a plan to deploy a 200MW/400MWH battery energy storage project in Victoria, Australia.
Green Investment Group (GIG) is a subsidiary of Macquarie Asset Management Company. Shell Energy is a comprehensive energy service subsidiary of the fossil fuel giant Shell Company. The two companies plan The city's Rangebank Commercial Park jointly deployed this battery energy storage project.
The project has been completed in financial settlement and is starting to deploy the project, which is expected to be put into use by the end of 2024.
The battery energy storage system of this project will be provided by FLUENCE to use the company's sixth -generation Gridstack modular battery energy storage system. FLUENCE will be responsible for building, serving and maintaining this battery energy storage system.
Shell Energy Company has signed a 20 -year -old purchase agreement and obtained 100%of the scheduling right of this battery energy storage system.
Shell Energy's business in Australia includes electricity for business and industry (C & I) customers, as well as project engineering and other services. The company lists many applications in battery energy storage business cases, including a series of user -side services such as frequency control auxiliary services (FCAS) markets, demand response, reliability and energy reserve transactions, arbitrage, and demand charging management.
At the same time, Green Investment Group's equity investment in the project will be transferred to Eku Energy, a battery storage developer established by the company last year. EKU Energy develops, constructs and manage energy storage assets in extensive markets, sources of income and market structures.
Other battery storage projects deployed by Shell Energy in Australia include two 500MW/1000MWH battery energy storage systems developed by New South Wales. The company also signed a 100MW/200MWH battery energy storage system with Edify Energy public institution in 2021.
