How to deal with broken PV panels?

When the solar panel is damaged and piled up with the rubble of the house, etc., the sunlight may generate electricity when it hits the panel, and touching it with bare hands, etc., may cause electric shock.

(1) Do not touch with bare hands.

(2) Wear insulated gloves such as dry wire gloves or rubber gloves when touching damaged solar panels during rescue and restoration work, etc.

(3) When multiple solar panels are connected by cables, unplug or disconnect the connected cables. If possible, cover the panels with a blue tarp or cardboard, etc., or make the front side face down to avoid exposure to sunlight.

(4) If possible, wrap the exposed copper wire in the cable section with plastic tape, etc.

(5) When transporting the solar panel to a disposal site, it is prudent to smash the glass with a hammer, etc. In addition, the components of the panel are as follows: semi-reinforced glass (about 3mm thick), cell (silicon plate: 10-15cm square, 0.2-0.4mm thick, silver electrodes, solder, copper foil, etc.), transparent resin, white resin plate, metal frame (mainly aluminum), wiring material, resin box, etc.
